Dear friends,
Welcome to the very first edition of the Performing Arts International monthly newsletter! We are excited to share highlights from July, take a look at what happened in August, and offer a glimpse of what’s ahead.
🌟 July Highlights 🌟
🎭 Sarah Kane’s Saturday Workshops: Creating Character
These one-day workshops offered a deep dive into Michael Chekhov’s approach to acting, building a vibrant, living bridge between imagination, movement, and the characters we portray.
🗣 Sarah Kane's Sunday Workshops: Artistic Speech
Sarah Kane also led a powerful three-part series on Rudolf Steiner’s artistic speech, inviting actors to explore where words find their life and how that life comes through in performance.
🌟 This Month 🌟
We kicked off the month with the Joy of Movement Summer Course, filling our spaces with energy, discovery, and joy. On 11th August, we welcomed participants to our exciting Twelfth Night Workshop, where Sarah Kane and Andrew Wolpert guided actors through an immersive experience. Finally, we hosted the Michael Chekhov International Conference on 23rd August, where we brought together artists and educators from around the world to celebrate and explore Chekhov’s legacy.
🔮 Looking Ahead Into September 🔮
Sarah Kane will be offering two new online courses:
Tuesdays: Introducing a Chekhovian Approach to Developing Speech
Thursdays: Exploring Narrative and Developing the Imagination
