Speaking of Poetry...
Dear Friend,
Join two professional speech artists, Sarah Kane, supported by Lindsay-May Dearlove, for an embodied exploration of English poetry.
Each day of this five-day workshop will consist of sessions to develop the essential tools of speech, breathing and articulation, while refining how we speak poems by such writers as Shakespeare, Shelley, Hopkins and T.S. Eliot.
This course aims to refresh and restore each of our souls through the majesty, beauty and dynamism of the English language. It is open to anyone with a love of English poetry and a willingness to work at conjuring the magic of words in their speech.
Participants are asked to bring soft-soled shoes and comfortable clothing suitable for moderate movement, together with a poem in English that they know by heart and would like to explore and perform.
