What's in store for you with Performing Arts International?

Dear friends,
We are delighted to share the exciting programme of workshops, festivals and training opportunities taking place throughout June with Performing Arts International. We warmly invite actors, speakers, performers and anyone passionate about the creative process to join us for a month dedicated to imagination, transformation, voice and performance.

A Michael Chekhov Technique Intensive with Sarah Kane: The Essentials in Twelve Steps begins next week.
Taking place from Tuesday 2 June to Thursday 25 June 2026 at Rudolf Steiner House, London, this immersive training offers participants the opportunity to explore Michael Chekhov’s extraordinary acting technique in depth through a carefully structured twelve-step journey. Sessions take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10am to 5pm.

The intensive is divided into three stages:
The Actor: Preparing
Exploring the actor’s body, gesture, qualities of movement and the essential creative principles at the foundation of the Chekhov Technique.

The Character: Transforming
Developing character through body, voice, imaginary centres and psychological gesture, allowing the actor to fully embody imaginative transformation.

The Text: Creating a Performance
Bringing atmosphere, composition, gesture and text together to create inspired and authentic performance work.

Participants are asked to bring:
A character they would like to explore
A monologue and a scene to work on
Soft-soled shoes
Loose, comfortable clothing suitable for movement

Enrolment is through the New Actors Centre website:

Performing Arts International is also very pleased to announce the Speaking Voice Festival, taking place from Friday 12 June to Sunday 14 June 2026.

This three-day festival is a celebration of the living human voice in all its diversity, beauty and potency. Through podcast Q&As, workshops, plenaries and masterclasses, participants will experience and learn from artists and practitioners who have devoted their lives to the craft of speaking poetry, stories and dramatic text.

Hosted by Adrian Locher with Sarah Kane, Tess Dignan and Benjamin Moore, the festival offers a rich opportunity to deepen artistic practice and reconnect with the power of language and speech.

Festival Times:
