Workshop 8 - 12 September 2019 (FIVE DAYS) Creating pictures with words: Exploring narrative

Story, i.e. recalling history - from deeply personal events, bound to specific times and places, to the universal and eternal, and everything in between – will be the focus of this week of exploration. We will be investigating who or what a narrator is, and how does a narrator enliven and give shape to those events and actions described in legends, fables, fairy tales, anecdotes etc, and their consequences? What inner qualities, what skills does telling a story ask us to develop as human beings?
In the mornings we will work with exercises both in movement and in speech that help us develop and strengthen our imagination and our capacity to paint pictures with words; in the afternoons work with telling stories and narrative poetry.
The workshop starts at 09.30 am on Sunday 8 September, and ends on Thursday 12 September at 5.30 pm. Sessions run from 09.30 – 12.30 & 14.30 – 17.30.
